Through the prism of stage costume, the video installation DIS_PLACEMENT allows the author to explore the complex phenomenon of uncertainty, focusing on contemporary nomadism and emotional displacement. Following a career during which she realized more than 80 theater and 15 film costume designs in Serbia and the region, Selena Orb turns to self-reflection, questioning the personal and professional price of international activity. The work treats the concept of displacement not only as a physical relationship between body and space, but as a deeply emotional state of identity. Here, the performing body functions as an archive of changes, shifting displacement from a political-geographical into an intimate space. The soundscape in this work functions as an auditory cut between the outside world and the inner space of memory. Thus, the noise of space, transit, and cities represents the pressure of reality, while the repetition of the sentence There is no time before us, we are everywhere and forever, by author Dina Pešuta, serves as an emotional anchor and testimony that belonging is an internal process.
